The band Black Sand was founded by Richard and Walter a couple of years ago, at that time as a cover band. Tired of reproducing already existing songs we started to write our own music, despite of our time-consuming professions. Some of the band-members couldn't cope with this new conception, so a constant fluctuation of musicians was the consequence. But we've kept standing by our line, a fact that should prove its worth.

In 2000 we attended a band competition arranged by Signal Radio, an English radio-station in Newcastle just for fun. Leaving behind more than 120 participants, at first go we managed to find our way into the best 10 bands and went in for the finale. Unfortunately we couldn't keep the short-term appointment, so we missed the unique chance of a live-performance at the Chicago Rock-Café in Newcastle .

ROCK ON, ROCK ON,WE WILL ROCK ON ...

The competition showed us that we are on the right way and so we decided 2002 to compose the songs by ourself. In this time we written more than 50 songs and we have ideas for many, many more.

We produced some of the songs in our studio with professional musicians like Charles Hörnemann, Patric Cox, Daniela Haag and Günther Haag and in October 2004 we fulfilled our dream of playing live gigs in newcastle and liverpool and we promise that we will play in england also in the future, because for us england is the heart of rockmusic.
